The New Brighton Public Works Department is accountable for the maintenance of all Borough roads and storm sewers. In additional to local maintenance, the department responds to all sanitary sewer problems in the Borough as well as Pulaski and Daugherty Townships, and parts of Rochester Township. The department also performs sewer tap inspections for any new connections and inspections of terminations during demolition.
During winter snow storms the Street Department will clear streets while it’s snowing and clear parking areas once the snow stops. All cooperation from residents is appreciated.
Maintenance schedules and other services are as follows:
Street sweeper runs from April 1st to December 1st. Days and times of street sweeping are posted on Borough streets.
Leaf pickup begins the 3rd week of October and runs through the first full week of December. Only leaves along the curb line will be collected. Leaf collections follows street sweeper routes or may be arranged by calling the Borough garage.
Small brush pickup is on Monday mornings. Residents should call the Borough garage to request a collection.
Large brush may be delivered to the New Brighton Wastewater Treatment Plan. Arrangements for access must be made by calling the garage.
