Transporation

With several state routes passing through the town, including State Route 18 / 65, the Borough of New Brighton has easy access to Pittsburgh, Cranberry, New Castle, as well as many other locations.

The residents of the Borough also have access to an excellent public transportation system. The Beaver County Transit Authority (BCTA) has numerous bus stops in the Borough every day. Bus stops are located at Third Avenue & Tenth Street and at Fifth Avenue & Sixteenth Street. Both of these locations, running on Route 1, provide residents with transportation to Chippewa, Beaver Falls, Rochester, Freedom, Economy, Baden, Ambridge, Leetsdale, Sewickley, and Pittsburgh. Connecting routes provide access to numerous other locations including the Beaver Valley Mall, Pittsburgh International Airport, Robinson Town Centre, The Mall at Robinson, Beaver County Courthouse, and The Medical Center.

The residents of the Borough also have access to all of the services offered at Beaver County Transit Authority’s Rochester Transportation Center, located at 200 West Washington Street, Rochester which also provides riders the following amenities:

  • Park and ride - Leave your car and let BCTA take you where you need to go! A paved, well-lighted lot accommodates 48 vehicles, with a second overflow lot available during times of heavy demand. Parking is free to bus patrons and ridesharing participants.

  • Kiss and ride - This area is designed for riders who are dropped off at the Rochester Transportation Center. The drive-through area offers plenty of room, no traffic hassles, and is adjacent to a main entrance of the Center. This area doubles as a taxi stand, providing a convenient access point for travel to locations not served by BCTA.

  • Connections to and from multiple bus routes - The Rochester Transportation Center is served by Routes 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, and 11, as well as DART. It’s simple to use the Center as a starting or connecting point for travel to and from downtown Pittsburgh, northwestern Allegheny County, and within Beaver County.

  • Customer information center - This area has convenient, indoor seating for almost 40 passengers. Large windows allow the passenger to see all buses approaching. A coin changer is available to facilitate fare payment. The Center is open weekdays from 5:30 AM until 7:30 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

  • Real-time information - Within the Customer Information Center one can view bus arrival and departure information on electronic signage that provides up-to-the-minute information. In the event of bad weather or heavy traffic, this signage informs the rider of the exact time of the next bus arrival. Personal trip planning is also available via a touch-screen kiosk, and a courtesy phone connects customers to live help weekdays from 5:30 AM until 7:30 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

  • Ticket sales - A BCTA representative is on hand in the Customer Information Center Monday through Friday between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM to furnish tickets, passes, and route and schedule information to customers.
